Water repellent fabric activated by heat

In the past, digital printers have been frustrated in their attempts to work with water repellent textiles because ink and dye was equally repelled from the fabric surface. Pacific Coast Fabrics, Gardena, Calif., is now offering a new material where the repellent is activated by heat in the calendaring process, after the material has been printed.

“Not only is this fabric great for outdoor banners, but this is also the best tablecloth fabric we have ever seen,” says vice president Mike Sanders.

In addition, this textile is ideal for all pop-up tent applications. Called Deko-Tex Lotos 7058FLBN, it is stocked in 60- and 72-inch width and weighs approximately 6.4 ounces per square yard.
